The Spruce Lodge in the historical district is a cozy retreat with a unique charm. The staff were friendly, and the mountain air was refreshing. Though the bed sloped, the spacious room and clean bathroom made up for it. The on-site hot tub was a relaxing bonus.Free parking for large vehicles was convenient for our road trip, and the premium bedding ensured a good night’s sleep. The nearby Rio Grande National Forest and Coller State Wildlife Area offered stunning natural beauty to explore. And the two onsite restaurants served delicious American cuisine.Our room had a covered patio and a 40-inch TV, adding to the comfortable stay. Although there was no firewood provided for the fire ring, the gathering of kind guests saved the day. The animals roaming around, especially the friendly cats and dogs, added a touch of homeliness to the lodge.The Spruce Lodge provided a memorable experience, perfect for those seeking a mix of rustic charm and modern comforts. I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway in the mountains.
